Wiping clean the slate

By Cassandra Tyndall

If you’re considering a reset of your goals and plans that may have fallen by the wayside at the height of the season, then it may pay off to pause a while longer. The first week of August is a bit like July’s hangover. There may still be some mess to clean and loose ends to tie up. Before starting anew, consider what is yet to be finished. This week is ideal for solidifying your motivations, intentions and goals, but before you do, be sure to wipe the slate clean of anything that holds you back. Included in this list are those old stories you’re telling yourself, the stories you’re being told, habits and/or people you know aren’t good for you. The world is a crazy place at the moment and the push/pull from the planets amplifies astrology’s ethos of “As Above, So Below.” When a fork in the road presents itself and a choice has to be made, always follow your heart, it will lead the way. A New Moon in Leo on Sunday may help you find a sense of sovereignty and certainty.

Pack up your troubles

June 25, 2025
The longest day of the year has officially come and gone, which means we are now on the slow, downhill slide toward winter.  Given that the days are currently long and the temperatures are nearing their peak, my family has opted for the traditional summer beach vacation. This is nothing new since we’ve rented a…

Life in a shell: eastern box turtle

June 25, 2025
As a budding naturalist growing up in the concrete-heavy environs of Boston, I would regularly thumb through my family’s collection of nature books and daydream about the creatures within. One species I was particularly drawn to was the eastern box turtle. These charismatic terrestrial turtles have high-domed shells festooned with colorful yellow or orange markings…
