Clarity is coming

By Cassandra Tyndall

The space weather changes a lot this week. If January wasn’t quite the productive goal-achieving month you anticipated it would be, then the first week of February looks quite different.

The combination of a New Moon and Mercury winding up its retrograde phase brings a feeling of renewal. Plans and ideas that were delayed from very late December 2021 may be back on the table for discussion. There is new information and insights to come, so it may pay off to not be too enthusiastic to push forward too quickly.

The annual meeting of the Sun and Saturn may assist you in gaining clarity about which direction to take this year. This might mean recognizing the need to let go of some obligations or responsibilities as you recommit to the ones that matter. Priorities will be important, so take your time in figuring them out.

If there are some hard lines to be drawn or hard work to be done under this heavy, somber vibe, there is some cosmic support. Even if you have to do something you’d rather not do, approaching it with purpose and rolling up your sleeves and getting it done will make things a whole lot easier.

I always ski on June 1st. Some years, the lifts are running, and I’m surrounded by a thousand of my closest friends and fellow ski bums, the line wrapping around the base lodge. Some of us are there for the bragging rights, others for the free t-shirt, and some time at the Umbrella Bar. There’s…

Drawing on inspiration

June 4, 2025
I know it was second grade because I remember the classroom. And I know what teacher was involved because I never forgot her or the moment I’m about to highlight. The year was 1974. I don’t have many memories from that stage of my life, but the following was poignant enough to have possibly set…

Celestial creature: Indigo bunting

June 4, 2025
There is nothing like the royal blue of an indigo bunting. In the Northeast, they arrive fashionably late to the spring fling, behind the vanguard of migrating warblers and other songbirds. On my morning walk in my frequent birding spot – my “patch,” as birders call it –I heard the sharp double-noted tune: “Look! Look!…
