Try something different on for size

By Cassandra Tyndall

The astrology of February is quite unique. With a total of six of the seven visible planets all congregating in the sign of Aquarius, there will be one area of life where you’ll be exerting a great deal of mental energy. Take note of the direction of the thoughts that occupy your mind — that will be your clue as to where you may need to rethink, refresh and innovate.

Negotiations, particularly of a relational nature may be under cosmic pressure to adjust and change too. As planet of love Venus activates the signature aspect of 2021 — the volatile square between Saturn and Uranus — this week may highlight an ongoing theme within your most important partnerships.

On one hand, you may be inspired to pursue a deviation from your usual rhythm or routine, while on the other, you may come to realize just how much of a stickler you are for the familiar. Regardless of your own nature toward change, straddling the tension between trying something new and staying the same is territory that will be almost impossible to escape from. The flavor of February is about “trying it on for size.” Even if it doesn’t fit, there will be plenty of opportunities moving forward to finding a solution that fits.

Where were you when…

Every now and then, there is a moment in time that defines an era. Those moments are rare. When they do happen, we tend to look back saying, “Where were you when…”  Where were you when heard about the planes crashing into the Twin Towers? Where were you when Kurt Cobain died? How about John…

A boxelder for Terry

November 20, 2024
My friend Terry Gulick, who passed away earlier this year, used to tease me about my favorite yard tree. Terry did a lot of gardening jobs when he wasn’t mentoring kids, and he was amused and a little offended by what I’d allowed to grow up in my former vegetable patch. It was bad enough…

What Killington was like in 1965

November 20, 2024
Killington was in the town of Sherburne in 1965. I remember going to the Sherburne Town Meeting in March of 1966. The ski area shut down until noon as the men all attended the morning portion of the meeting. It was mainly devoted to the highway department. A lengthy debate occurred about whether the town…
