“I’m a 3-year-old black mouth cur mix. My previous home had some transitions. It’s been a bit of an adjustment for me — I am a bit on the shy side. Meeting new people makes me a little nervous, but once I get to know you, I warm up nicely. I enjoy long walks, it’s so peaceful. Speaking of peace, I am best suited for a calmer, gentle environment and would do best in a home without children. I might like to live with other fur children though, perhaps the right cat or dog — if they liked me too. I don’t mind a good rest either, maybe cuddled up next to a campfire. So, if you are looking for a gentle companion please call today to learn more!”

If you are looking for a small animal, we have good news: we have several! We currently have seven lop-mix rabbits. They are spayed and neutered and ready to have families to love them. We also have two male Guinea pigs that are best friends and have to be adopted together. And we have the cutest tiny dwarf hamster! For more information about adoption and these animals, check out our Facebook page, call or visit our website.

Signs of a season changing

I don’t Spartan, but I have always felt that the race itself constitutes the beginning of the fall season. Although this year, with the hot summer temperatures, I’m not really sure how that fits in to any season except “Vermont.” But at the same time, it’s my signal to kick in the dryland training, that…

I was sitting in an auditorium last spring watching my son graduate from high school when a funny moment occurred.  The class valedictorian was giving his speech and at a certain point mentioned the various personalities of his classmates and how they were a microcosm of society. “Some of my classmates are going to be…

Late blooming flowers feed native bees

September 18, 2024
By Emily Haynes As the height-of-summer floral abundance fades, goldenrods and asters fill the landscape with hits of yellow, purple, pink, and white. Beyond the beauty they provide, these late bloomers are a critical food source for several native species of wild bees. During late summer and fall, many specialist wild bees are active, said…
