Strike Out Hunger a successful fundraiser

I would like to thank everyone who bowled or made donations for the Strike Out Hunger Benefit Bowl, held on Friday, June 3. Together, we raised $1,726 for the Rutland Meals Challenge! This is enough money for us to package an additional 6,904 meals for local community dinner programs, food pantries and the Vermont Food Bank at our January 2017 food packaging event. For more information about the Rutland Meals Challenge, visit: vtmealschallenge.wordpress.com.
The success of this fundraiser was thanks in large part to many area businesses and individuals, who donated snacks, prizes and silent auction items for the event.
Thank you all for making this event a success and for helping to Strike Out Hunger in our community!
Sara Longworth, Rutland Meals Challenge Committee Member

Dear Editor, We’re heading north and so excited. We’re moving full time to Vermont! For decades we’ve been snow birds, like my parents, spending half the year in Bradenton, Florida.
