Rutland’s 20th annual candlelight vigil held in Depot Park

Vigil to prevent homelessness

Friday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m.—RUTLAND—The Homeless Prevention Center is hosting Rutland County’s 20th annual candlelight vigil in Depot Park. This event brings attention to the tragedy of homelessness many Vermont families and individuals endure. It’s also an opportunity to hear about successes and learn what’s being done in our community to reduce the incidence of homelessness.

Come listen to the stories of people who are homeless, or were formerly homeless, and light a candle as a symbol of your commitment to help end this heartbreak in our community.

This event is open to the public and should last about a half hour. Candles are provided as well as hot cider and cocoa. More information on this event and homelessness in Rutland County is available at hpcvt.org.
