July 2-Aug 29 — POULTNEY — Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill in partnership with the Poultney Historical Society proudly present a special exhibit, Portraits of a Community, featuring photography by Chuck Helfer, Tikko Freilich, Martin Van Buren III and vintage photos from the collection of the Poultney Historical Society. The exhibition takes place Friday, July 2 through Sunday, Aug. 29. The gallery is open on Fridays from 5-7:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Front Porch Music Series and on Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
Stone Valley Arts collaborated with the Poultney Historical Society on this project that celebrates Poultney’s multifaceted community.
Recognized regional photographers, Helfer, Frielich and Van Buren III were invited to take portraits of people who contribute to the community in significant ways, working in occupations ranging from recreation trail builders, entrepreneurs, slate and maple industry workers, artists, educators, civic leaders and more.
Each photographer offers a unique style and approach to portrait photography. All elements come together for a cross-generational and cross-time connection that creates a lively visual conversation between Poultney’s distinct history and the promising present day.
