Okemo celebrates the seasons with Fall Into Winter Festival

Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. — LUDLOW — Okemo Mountain Resort will host its first-ever Fall into Winter Festival on Saturday, Oct. 11. Jackson Gore, in all of its fall-foliage glory, will be the setting for live music, food and family activities. In addition, Mountain Outfitters at Jackson Gore is holding a Columbus Day Weekend Tent Sale and local food and craft vendors will be on hand for pre-holiday gift shopping. Okemo’s Coleman Brook Tavern will be serving fresh-from-the-grill favorites and some seasonal specialties along with hot cider and some chilled autumn brews. Admission to the Fall into Winter Festival is free and festivities are slated from 1 to 7 p.m.

Activities planned for the day include hayrides, face painting, a pumpkin-seed-spitting contest, pumpkin painting and a pie-eating contest. The Bondville Boys and the Chris Kleeman Band will provide music. The Bondville Boys have played hard-edged bluegrass throughout Western New England. They will perform from 1-3:45 p.m. Chris Kleeman, a master blues singer and song stylist, will take the stage at 4:15 p.m.

Okemo’s Adventure Zone will be open during the Fall into Winter Festival.

In the event of rain, music and activities will move to The Ice House at Jackson Gore.
