Jones’ Donuts offers purple donuts to support Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum

RUTLAND– Jones’ Donuts will be putting a unique spin on their classic, crowd-pleasing recipe June 13 and 14, 8 -11 a.m. to “raise some dough” for Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum. Jones’ Donuts will offer a special purple donut and a donut with purple sprinkles, available by the dozen or half dozen, proceeds to benefit the museum and its community programs. Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum is scheduled to reopen to the public Friday, June 19.

Purple donut pickup will be in the Immaculate Heart of Mary parking lot across the street from Jones’ Donuts. Volunteers will serve car-side pickup meeting all health and safety guidelines. Purple donuts will be available for $20 a dozen or $12 for a half dozen. Purple donut preorders can be made online Monday, June 7 – Thursday, June 11 at wonderfeetkidsmuseum.org/donuts. On the day of the event, non-purple donuts orders should go through the regular Jones’ Donuts drive-through.

Wonderfeet Executive Director Danielle Monroe said, “We were excited when Jones’ agreed to partner with this event. Walt and Lynn Manney have been great supporters of the museum over the years and we hope this will be something families can enjoy together. We’re eager to reopen the museum doors, as we know families have been schooling at home and the limited options available for kids. It’s going to be great to see the families we serve in person again.”

Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum will re-open Friday, June 19 with a modified schedule and updated cleaning and operating procedures to adhere to new health and safety guidelines. Wonderfeet will also offer two, week-long day camps in July.

Upon reopening, museum hours will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. The museum will undergo cleaning every day between the two sessions to ensure that all guests are getting the safest, most high-quality experience possible. Open hours are subject to change as we respond to changing guidelines and the demand from the community. Please check Facebook for updates.

They will operate with a reduced guest capacity of no more than 25 guests at a time. For this reason, reservations for parties and celebrations will not be offered at this time.

Guests will be asked to adhere to new check-in procedures that include a temperature check and  hand and shoe sanitizing. Of course, if you or your children have had any symptoms of illness in the last seven days, we will ask that you stay home and visit at another time.

Masks will be required for all adults. They recommend masks for children who are old enough to wear them.

No food or drinks will be allowed inside the museum (with the exception of baby bottles).

Wonderfeet staff will be adhering to new stricter cleaning guidelines, which means some of the exhibits may look a little different. Also, the museum will be closed every afternoon for a cleaning break where all materials and surfaces will be sanitized.

Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum fosters curiosity and exploration, inspires creativity, and ignites the imagination of every child through the power of play. It is located at 11 Center St. in Rutland. For more information call 802-282-2678 or visit WonderfeetKidsMuseum.org.
