Development: Red Flags at Jay/Burke, no flags at Killington

Dear Editor,
In light of the thief of investor funds at Jay Peak and Burke and the Town of Newport, it is so ironic the state of Vermont approvals got things moving so fast. The lack of oversight with EB-S funds by the state, the movement of funds from People’s United Bank to a brokerage account in Miami, Florida, someone either at the bank or at the brokerage firm should have seen red flags all over the place. Instead of the governor bragging about this fabulous development project, he and Leahy and Welch, and Sanders, and Lawrence Miller should have seen this “black hole” coming years ago.
So, here we are, Jay and Burke get fast track approvals while after nine years the Killington Resort still has not put a shovel in the ground. The governor won’t even talk about what we want here in Killington.
Edwin J. Fowler, Killington, Vt.
