CCCA soliciting photos for annual contest

“Look Out Below” was a submission for the CCCA’s annual calendar photo contest that earned a spot for February.

CAVENDISH — Every year the Cavendish Community and Conservation Association solicits Cavendish residents for photographs to grace its community calendar. The community then gets to pick the twelve best submissions for the calendar. Photos are now being accepted for next year’s calendar, through May 31.

Photos must show scenes and landscapes in Cavendish and Proctorsville that are valuable for their beauty, historic significance and overall importance to the community. Pictures can include people or animals. The purpose of the calendar is to bring a greater appreciation and sense of pride about the town, which is the foundation of conservation and good stewardship. There are three age categories and the best picture in each category also receives an award and a prize.

Submissions must be 8” by 10” photos in a horizontal layout, along with name, the name given to the picture and the general location of where the photo was taken. Submissions of digital copies on a disk are encouraged.

Application forms are available at the Cavendish Town Office, at Cavendish Elementary School and at Crows Bakery on Depot Street, as well as online at cavendishccca.org. For info, contact Robin at 802-226-7736.
