Brain cancer memorial foundation thanks supporters

Dear Editor,

The Gayle Sheldon Memorial Foundation for Brain Cancer, Inc. held its seventh annual benefit ride on Aug. 30. The ride left from the Back Country Cafe in Killington and ended at TPW Vacation Rentals for a barbeque. The ride was 120 miles. This year’s ride was in honor of James (Jimmy) Jones, who at the time of the ride was fighting glioblastoma, a devastating form of brain cancer. Jones was not only a family friend but the grandfather to my daughter-in-law Brandi Horton. Both are from Abbeville, Mississippi. Sadly, James lost his battle just three short days after the benefit ride, at home, surrounded by family.

The event could not have been a success without the help of our sponsors. I would like to say a special “thank you” to our sponsor this year: Celebration Rentals, who has been our biggest sponsor these last seven years, Dan Turco and Sons Yamaha, who has also been a big sponsor these past seven years, Killington Resort’s Rich McCoy and crew, TPW Vacation Rentals, and the Killington Classic.

On behalf of the Gayle Sheldon Memorial Foundation for Brain Cancer, Inc., thank you for everything you have done for us this year.

Carol Horton, president

Irene Johnson, vice president

Sheila Stone, secretary

Chris Horton, treasurer
