This week’s horoscopes are coming out under the light of a Scorpio moon. As usual there is a lot to talk about. One aspect that catches my eye is a waxing opposition between Pluto at 20 degrees Capricorn, and a conjunction between the asteroids Apollo and Arachne at 19 and 20 degrees Cancer respectively. I have seen this combo before. Its current occurrence confirmed so many things that have been cropping up, of late, that I thought it would be good to talk about it.
Last week I had a reading scheduled with a woman who had been waiting to talk with me for close to a year. For some reason my phone wasn’t working on the day of the session and our wires got crossed. Once we unraveled that issue and the conversation started, she said, “I feel like I am in a really good place right now, and I am just here to get confirmation.” Having already studied her charts, I thought to myself, “Oh Boy! This is going to be a tough one.” Her statement reminded me of the expression, “Pride comes before a fall.” All I could say was, “Well, it’s a good idea to pay heed to those moments when you think you’re on top of your game, because the minute you start patting yourself on the back, things tend to fly south.”
The woman didn’t want to hear this. She said something about the power of positive thinking, hinting that she only wanted to embrace things that reinforced her sense of success. Then she said that maybe it would be best if we called off the reading. I had no problem with this. I’ve learned over time that it is a waste of energy to talk with people who don’t want to hear what they don’t want to hear.
The bane of the astrologer’s existence is the piece that requires us to tell it like it is. And while there are times when the message is 100% positive, on the days when you have to tell someone things aren’t looking so good, you have to dig down real deep to deliver the message in a way that allows the client to see the silver lining behind the clouds. In the situation with the woman I mentioned above, from an astrological perspective she was living on a Saturn line, walking into a storm, and under the illusion that “she was in a really good place.” Under the circumstances it probably would have helped her to have a little chat about her impending difficulties, but she wasn’t open to it.
This gets me back to the transit I mentioned, the current opposition between Pluto and the asteroids Arachne and Apollo. The textbook definition of this transit would be: Things get overly complicated due to a tacit refusal to look at or deal with, the truth or the level of complication makes it impossible to see the truth. It is also hidden undercurrents or snarls that add fuel to the tendency to attract situations meant to effect cathartic themes and processes – thus, missing the point or getting it only a small piece at a time. In other words, to be oblivious to the way things are going and to wind up shooting yourself in the foot or shoveling against the tide, stuck in situations that rake you over the coals.
There is way more to this combination than I have covered here. Relative to the woman in question, all I can say is, God bless her. I hope that her positive thoughts are enough to help her get around some of the stuff that is bearing down on her situation right now.
If we take the Pluto-Apollo-Arachne aspect and apply it to some of the stuff that is impacting our political situation here in the states (and elsewhere) it is fascinating to see how the powers that be keep using one thing after another to beat the same dead horse and stubbornly refuse to get the lesson or come to any resolution.
