Dear Editor,
Union workers are the backbone of the City of Rutland. From supporting our schools to maintaining the roads, making sure residents have safe and clean drinking water, to responding to emergencies, we are the ones that make Rutland the great city that it is. As such, we also know that we need effective leaders in City Hall who will support our work and the delivery of high-quality public services for Rutland’s working families. That is why AFSCME Local 1201 is proud to endorse Paul Clifford and Kiana McClure for Alderman on this Town Meeting Day election.
Both Paul and Kiana have long been trusted friends of working people, have shown themselves to have true integrity, and both have Rutland’s best interests at heart.
Therefore, as President of AFSCME Local 1201 I ask that all working people, all union members, cast their ballot for these two fine candidates on March 4th. Together, and with Mike Doenges as mayor, we will make Rutland an even better place to live for all.
Tom Franzoni, President of AFSCME Local 1201, Rutland City
