Gender designation on birth certificates is going too far

Dear Editor,

Now that we are retroactively able to change our gender identity on Vermont birth certificates the next logical step is to allow change of our ethnic identity as well.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren can be Native American, all the white people who ran Black organizations (along with would-be rappers) can be Black.

There should also be an “X” box on this category so that white people who don’t want to be racists can be truly neutral. After that change, allow a change in date of birth. I certainly don’t identify with the ghastly date on my own.
