Help RCHS exceed our $20,000 year end matching challenge

Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) has a fabulous opportunity to end 2021 with a bang! Two very generous supporters have offered to donate $20,000 to RCHS if the community will match it by Dec. 31, 2021. What a great opportunity to help the homeless animals in Rutland County! Before you know it, we will have reached our goal of $20,000, and then it will be matched, making twice the difference and helping twice as many animals. Every dollar helps! If you would like to donate, visit our website at rchsvt.org, or, you can send a check to RCHS at 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763 and note “Year End Matching Challenge” in the memo line. For any questions, please contact Beth at shelterbeth@rchsvt.org or call 802-483-9171. Thank you for being part of this wonderful opportunity to help the animals!

Back in the ‘50s five pharmacies were located in downtown Rutland. They were: Shangraw’s, Carpenter’s, Carroll Cut Rate, McClallen’s, and Beauchamp &…

I couldn’t find my center of balance for the life of me. A few days off from skiing and I felt like a fish flopping about on dry land. I would get stuck in the rut and get launched upwards and then I could feel my weight slamming into the back of my boots. The…

I never dreamed of being a writer, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It was an early morning in 1994, and I was standing in the composition department of the Mountain Times, having been hired the prior year as a part-time graphic artist. Computers were just coming onto…
