The dark forces have met their maker

By Cal Garrison a.k.a. Mother of the Skye

This week’s horoscopes are coming out under the light of a Capricorn moon, a moon that will turn void of course until it enters Aquarius at 11:35 a.m. on Aug. 13. With the full moon coming up on Aug. 15, the week is bound to be chock full of intensity.

As of this writing, the intensity factor just went over the top. Between the rash of mass shootings in the U.S., and the supposed suicide of Jeffrey Epstein, the news reports are playing 52-pickup with a pack of truth and lies.

From an astrological perspective, there are a million places to go with things like this. If we start with the charts for the mass shootings, buttress that information with the charts of the shooters, and then move on to an in depth analysis of Epstein’s chart, the answers show up in spades. With a tsunami of information floating around in my brain, I decided to keep it simple and focus on finding one set of aspects that ties it all together.

We already know that we are living through the tail end of the kali yuga.

For those of you who have no idea what that means, let me put it in a nutshell. The kali yuga is the last age of the world cycle. Otherwise known as the dark age, in Hindu cosmology the kali yuga leads to the destruction of the world, and is the precursor to the beginning of a new cycle.

If we look around, and unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, it’s quite obvious that life on this planet is on tenterhooks. When we consider the as above, so below’ axiom, it follows that this state of affairs would have to be reflected in the stars. I could think of more than a few astrological configurations that ring up apocalyptic themes. The one that caught my eye this week involves an opposition between the asteroids apophis and karma.

We’ve talked about Apophis before. Apophis is the serpent that slithers in the heart of darkness, a leviathan whose sole purpose on this earth is to destroy the light.

In Egyptian mythology Apophis was said to crawl out of the ocean depths every day at sundown in order to spend the night trying to swallow up the ship of the sun God Ra. The Apophis myth is a metaphor for what happens during the dark half of the grand cycle. Interestingly, when his reign of terror comes to an end, it is Bastet, the Cat God, who saves the day by slicing off the head of Apophis with a knife.

With this in mind, take into consideration the fact that Apophis is currently in opposition to the asteroid karma. How do we define karma? Karma is a Hindu concept that says that all of our thoughts and words and deeds are balanced, one way or another, over a series of lifetimes. Put simply, it comes down to understanding that what goes around comes around, or, we reap what we sow.

With karma and Apophis in opposition, it would appear that the dark forces that have been in control throughout the kali yuga have met their maker, or their moment of truth. If what goes around comes around, the jig is up for anyone who has gone into alignment with the principles that thrive on evil and that make it OK to kill the light.

No one needs me to tell them that things in our outer reality have gone from bad to worse. If we are not in the midst of the darkest hour of the grand cycle, we’re pretty close to it. Suffice it to say that there are numerous other asteroids crowding around the Apophis-karma opposition, and all of them are adding fuel to the fire.

The mass shootings, and the Epstein scenario are perched on top of a can of worms that, when the truth finally comes to light, are bound to crawl out of their hole and defy belief.

So what can we do? I wish I knew. I just got off the phone with the man who has been my teacher for the last 22 years. In all of his wisdom, even he is in the midst of rearranging his thoughts on the subject of what happens when life as we know it meets up with forces that are immutable, unrelenting, and out of our hands.

Astrological predictions aside, the only advice I can offer would be to keep going within; search for your answers there – and stay in touch with the thought that ‘What goes around, comes around’ – because that particular concept is impacting all of us right now.

Let me leave you with that and invite you to take what you can from this week’s ‘scopes.
