This week’s Horoscopes are coming out under the light of a Sagittarius Moon, which by the end of the week, will reach fullness in the sign, Capricorn. “As above, so below,” any time the moon approaches its full phase, life accelerates, and it feels like everything is expanding toward some astronomical limit. This sense of growth pushes our internal mechanisms in ways that escalate feelings of excitement and intensity.
As the moon approaches fullness it is normal for the emotional component to fluctuate, from one extreme to another. This time, there are other factors adding their two-cents to that possibility. The planet Mars has been orbiting in a conjunction with the sun in Cancer for about seven days; they will continue to circle in tandem for another week or more.
When the sun and mars conjoin the “courageous” element is amplified. This is a feisty, don’t-mess-with-me aspect that can generate feelings of combativeness and induce the sense that we are right, even when we are wrong. In the sign Cancer, well, common sense suggests that fiery bodies in a watery sign are bound to generate steam. So, Cancer puts a damper on that energy and instead of letting it out in an upfront manner, it comes out in a more passive-aggressive fashion and we wind up getting “steamed.”
Of late, in my conversations with people I have been hearing stories that are filled with themes of turmoil, conflict, and lots of back-door backstabbing and bullshit. Each person’s drama is unique to their situation, but the general theme seems to be everybody’s pissed off about something, and nobody can figure out what to do about it. Hearing these tales on a daily basis has made me want to dig deeper into what might be an astrological explanation for it.
In thinking about it for a few minutes I realized that the transiting conjunction between Mars and the Sun is exactly conjunct the natal and progressed Uranus of everyone who was born between 1948 and 1953! If I were doing the charts for anyone who was birthed during that period of time I would have to say, ” Watch your temper and your actions over the next few weeks. In all things, let caution reign over impulse.”
To add to this, both Mars and the Sun have been conjunct the Trans-Neptunian Point, Hades. This connection induces the need to dredge up the past, along with every mistake we’ve ever made. Deep seated issues will be thumping behind the scenes in every situation. It doesn’t take much to see that this might lead to a lot of derogatory anger, which in turn would explain why we’ve been so upset lately.
It isn’t just the Baby-Boomers who are feeling this. The same aspects are torquing anyone born between 1972 and 1977. That’s right folks; the Baby Boomers AND their kids are getting knocked around by all of this, which makes it a multi-generational thing that has us walking through our shit — whatever’s left of it from what life has meted out to us so far, and every last ounce of our parental issues. Whoa, baby!
Fortunately, there’s enough good energy floating around to make it easier to get over ourselves. Trines between Uranus, Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon form a framework for coming to terms with things. The worst that could happen is we might choose to remain in denial about them, but we’re past the point where denial is even an option. It’s definitely time to wake up. Give yourself a minute or two to think about what it means to remain true to yourself, use the image of the Blue Tara to assist in the transmutation of anger, and enjoy this weeks’ ‘scopes.
