The music of Mozart soars at Coolidge State Historic Site

Sunday, July 5 at 4 p.m. — PLYMOUTH NOTCH — The famous Grace Coolidge piano will be in the spotlight when the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site hosts the first concert of the 2015 Grace Coolidge Musicales on Sunday, July 5 at 4 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Grace Coolidge Musicales are named in honor of one of America’s favorite first ladies. The piano was given to Mrs. Coolidge by the Baldwin Company and used in the family quarters at the White House.

The July 5 Musicale will be an all-Mozart program. Soprano Hannah Murray will sing the formidable “Exsultate Jubilate.” Dr. Susan Cobb will join Abigail Charbeneau at the piano to play the B-flat major and C major piano duets. The audience can anticipate a joyful performance in the acoustically vibrant Great Room at the historic site’s Coolidge Museum & Education Center.

The Grace Coolidge Musicales, which will be presented again on Sept. 13, are organized by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation and generously sponsored by the Alma Gibbs Donchian Foundation.
