RUTLAND — On Tuesday, Aug. 12, the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce will hold its 33rd Annual Winter In August Celebration from 5-8 p.m. The event will take place outside the Chamber Offi ces at 50 Merchants Row, in downtown Rutland. This food fest and street party, which started over 30 years ago, is organized to recognize the positive economic impact that the ski areas have on the region. This year over 30 businesses, restaurants and organizations will be participating at the celebration. At the 2013 event the Chamber established a “chef led panel” of experts to choose the award winners. It was a success! The experts judge nine criteria. Attendees also voted by ballot throughout the evening for the People’s Choice Award. The cost to attend Winter In August is $10 per person ($9 if pre-purchased).
