Muffy Kashkin Grollier demonstrates the art of needlefelting

Muffy Kashkin Grollier needlepoints a daffodil, timely for the spring season.

Sunday, May 17 at 10 a.m. — BRANDON — With her acclaimed exhibit “Felted Flora, Fauna and Fantasy” on display, Muffy Kashkin Grollier will be leading a workshop in needlefelting at the Compass Music and Arts Center on Sunday, May 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Learn to paint a picture using wool and a needle, a technique called needlefelting. Grollier will demonstrate the steps and techniques, from learning the variety of needles, the best kinds of wool to use and how to tell what wool is best. She will discuss choosing colors and how to blend them, where to buy the wool and tools, and what kinds of pre-felt to use for the canvas.

The class fee is $75 and is open to beginner and intermediate needlefelters. A materials list will be provided or beginner supply kits are available for purchase. Participants should bring a picture of something they would like to recreate. Register by emailing info@cmacvt.org or call 802-247-4295 by Friday, May 15.

Compass Music and Arts Center is located at Park Village, 333 Jones Drive, Brandon.
