Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.—WOODSTOCK—The Woodstock Vermont Film Series at Billings Farm & Museum presents John Chester’s “Biggest Little Farm.” The film follows two West Coast dreamers and their dog on an odyssey to bring harmony to both their lives and the land they choose to farm, on 200 acres in the foothills of Ventura County ― land that is utterly depleted of nutrients and suffering from a brutal drought. The film chronicles eight years of daunting work and outsize idealism as they attempt to create the utopia they seek.
The film is part of a exceptional series for 2019-2020. “As I review our selections for the coming season,” series curator Jay Craven said, “I see a theme of individual ascendancy, in a number of our films, through portraits of looming figures including Nobel Prize winning writer Toni Morrison, rock music icon David Crosby, jazz innovator Miles Davis and political figures Daniel Patrick Moynihan and President John F. Kennedy, on the occasion of JFK’s rousing final speech, given at Amherst College.”
All films will screen Saturdays, at 3 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m., at the Billings Farm and
