On July 7, the Wild Woods Music Co-op began an in-person- plus-Zoom song circle at the Godnick Adult Center in Rut- land. The next one will be Sept. 1.

The so-called Wild Woods Song Circle has gathered acoustic musicians and singers continuously since 1993 to share their music. While interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, the song circle picked up again in July of 2020 with virtual gatherings over Zoom.

A year later, with the easing of restrictions, Wild Woods commenced an alternating series of song circles in-person with a Zoom option, and Zoom-only.

The first Wednesday of the month is a “hybrid” song circle, in person at the Godnick Adult Center but allowing participation by Zoom. Following state guidelines, there are no requirements for mask wearing or vaccinations for in-person participation, but masks are recommended for the unvaccinated. Those taking part fill out a form with basic information, but you only fill it out once. Gus Bloch has been running the Zoom portion of the session and Jack Crowther the in-person part.

On the third Wednesdays, song circles are by Zoom only, with those on the Wild Woods mailing list sent the link for signing in on Zoom.

The song circles are open to all. You may simply show up at the Godnick Center for the in-person song circle or call Jack Crowther at 802-775-1182 to get on the email list for each virtual song circle. You may also email Gus Bloch at gusbloch @ gmail.com.

Participation is free. Donations are welcome to cover the cost of the Godnick Center rental and other expenses.
