Vermont Association of Snow Travelers riding season opens!

The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) is looking forward to a great snowmobiling season as a Nor’easter descended on Vermont last week just in time for the snowmobile season’s opening day, Dec. 16. In order to have trails ready to ride, there must be at least four inches of packed snow and frozen ground — this year far surpassed that minimum.

The VAST snowmobile season runs from Dec. 16 to April 15 of each year. VAST requests all rides to please respect landowners and volunteers by not going riding on the VAST trail system out of season, and only when clubs have gone through with a groomer. When you do ride, stay on the trail to help us maintain great relationships with landowners, VAST states. The more everyone follows the rules landowners will provide us the land to continue to ride.
