Untimely theft of sentimental Civil War memorabilia

SHREWSBURY — On Monday Nov. 9, Rutland State Police received a report of a burglary on Lottery Road in the town of Shrewsbury, Vt. Victim George Lincoln, age 63, and VSP-Rutland would like any and all help recovering sentimental Civil War memorabilia passed down from generations. The Lincoln family is missing a 6” flint lock pistol with a small leather powder horn, a post-Civil War era bayonet and a very distinctive Civil War Union soldier’s leather ammo case. The case is described to be in good condition, metal interior and grey/blue leather exterior. These items are thought to have gone missing around Oct. 31 and may still be in the Rutland area.
