U.S. Army Brass Quintet highlights afternoon of music

Saturday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Paramount Theatre and Castleton University present an afternoon of patriotic music and other favorites as part of the 14-month series, “Project 240: Celebrating the American Experience” on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Paramount Theatre.

Master Sergeant Bob McDonald and the United States Army Brass Quintet will join together with the Castleton University Chamber Singers and Castleton University Wind Ensemble for a one of a kind performance.

The US Army Brass Quintet will perform a medley of “Songs for the Soldier,” a musical journey from the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. In addition, the famed quintet will perform alongside the chamber singers and the wind ensemble at various points during the program.

Favorites such as “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “God Bless America,” and “Together in Song” by Vermont’s Gwyneth Walker highlight the performance which is sure to please audiences of all ages.

This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., with the program set to begin at 3 p.m.
