Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted person, DUI and possession of Heroin charge

LUDLOW — On June 24, at approximately 7:47 p.m., the Vermont State Police, in conjunction with the Ludlow Police Department, conducted a motor vehicle stop on a silver Chevy Equinox for a cracked windshield, on Vermont Route 103, near the Ludlow and Cavendish town line.  During the stop, it was determined that the operator, Jeffrey Burke, age 26 of Athens, Vt., was under the influence of narcotics and had an active arrest warrant out from Windham County.

The passenger, Zachary Bridge, age 25 from Bellows Falls, was also found to be in possession of three bags of heroin. Bridge was arrested and transported to the Rockingham State Police barracks.  The Windsor County Court Clerk issued several conditions of release for Bridge. He was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court, Criminal Division July 24, and then released.

Burke was arrested by the Ludlow Police Department and transported to Ludlow Police Department for processing, reported Sergeant Michael Studin from the VSP Rockingham station.
