Three Dems seek two seats in Windsor-6 House district

By Curt Peterson

Three Democrat candidates are seeking two seats in the primary election on Aug. 9 for the Windsor 6 House district, serving White River Junction and a portion of Quechee.

Incumbent Kevin Christie (D-White River) said his goal is to make Hartford a “safer, better place to raise children, work, run a business, and have a promising future.”

He said he is “family first, integrity, justice, service over self, honesty, humility and bipartisanship,” on his website.

Nicholas Bramlage (D-White River), operates a martial arts training center. He refers to himself as a “social entrepreneur” involved with textiles and children’s books. His website focuses on “progressive policies,” such as direct democracy, including a website through which Hartford residents would vote on every issue, guiding him in his representation of them.

His goals include fixing climate change and capitalism, and instituting a “big business tax” redirecting corporate profits to support progressive policies.

Esme Cole (D-White River) said her constituents worry about housing, keeping young people in the state, building a green economy, accessible healthcare and childcare, and competing with sales tax-free New Hampshire. Cole interned extensively for the Vermont Department of Health.

She would advocate for her community regarding local housing, equitable access to kindergarten through college education, fighting climate change and supporting Hartford’s arts and business communities economically.
