The Town of Hubbardton celebrates its 250th birthday

Friday & Saturday, July 18 & 19 — HUBBARDTON — Celebrating its 250th birthday, the Town of Hubbardton is planning an entertaining two-day party enjoyable for everyone.
Beginning on Friday, July 18, Center Grange 290 will kick-off the festivities with a pig roast or chicken barbecue with all the fixins’, at 5 p.m. Take outs are available. Afterwards, live music and dancing will take center stage at the Hubbardton Town Hall at 1831 Monument Hill Road. Advance tickets are $10, ($5 for age 10 and under) or $12 at the door ($6 ages 10 and under). For tickets, call 802-273-2651.
On Saturday, July 19, the day starts with a town wide tag sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The festivities continue at the Hubbardton Battlefield at 2 p.m., for the big birthday party. A kids’ fun run starts the day at 2 p.m., followed by horseshoe throwing contest, a magic show, balloons, face painting, more contests, races, games, speakers, a raffle drawing, entertainment by Robert Wuagneux, birthday cake and ice cream at 6:45 p.m. and a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. The activities are free and open to the public. People are encouraged to bring a picnic supper and lawn chairs.
