The Killington Community came together supporting one of their own

KILLINGTON — Amid a weekend that was crazy with Spartan Races, a lot of people found the time to stop by the Summit Lodge to support local resident Dan “Froggie” Reilly with the extensive list of surgeries that he has had to endure.

You couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was a bluebird day in the 70s. People gathered around the pool and patio to listen to DJ Dave, Aaron Audet, Joey Leone and Rick & Ben Redington. While enjoying the music, they got to munch on delicious food like Claude’s famous jambalaya, McGrath’s Guinness Stew, Domenic’s Pizza, Anna’s Empanadas and a whole lot more. There were raffle prizes galore, silent auction items and a 50/50 raffle.

Needless to say, the community raised some money for Dan and it will help him with his upcoming surgeries in Massachusetts. As of press time, the tally was about $3,200, but more is expected.

As “You’re the Best Around” by Joe Esposito from The Karate Kid played in the background, Dan Reilly spoke and said a few words from the heart. He was very grateful and moved by the show of support. He thanked an extensive lists of businesses and people who donated to this. “I can’t thank everyone enough,” he concluded.

Good times were had by all.
