Saints men look to turn transition buckets into a win

By: Justin Lemanski, Athletics Reporter

Vermont Tech’s men’s team  is 5-5 in the Yankee Small College Conference and will be looking to get a win to put themselves over .500 for the season. They are led by guard Jamal Hughes, who is averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting a team-high 58 percent from the field. Vermont Tech isn’t a team that dominates with their offense, but they are holding opponents to just 39 percent from the field and only give up about 70 points per game.

The Fighting Saints men are coming off of their first loss in the last 8 games and should be looking to come back strong with a conference win. If the Saints can use their speed and strong defense to create transition buckets, along with great ball movement to hit open shots, they should be able to put themselves in a good position to get a win.

Look for Dre Anderson to continue to be a team-leader and provide the Saints with points. Anderson hasn’t had a game with less than 17 points in his last 8 contests.
