Rutland Rec Department offers active lifestyle programs

RUTLAND — Run & bike throughout the Pine Hill Trails on Sunday, Sept. 21, in the Rutland Recreation Department’s 7th annual duathlon. The course will feature a 5K trail run followed by a 10K loop for mountain biking race starts at 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9:15 a.m. You can participate as an individual or as a team. The fee to participate is $10 pre-registration or $15 on race day for an individual or $15 pre-registration or $20 on race day for a team. Races are low key and fun for all levels of competitors, age 8 to 80!

Flip Side Skate Park is also still open, and is open to all ages and ability levels. New school hours are Wednesday through Friday, 3-7 p.m., Saturday, 1-8 p.m., Sunday, 1-6 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday.

Interested in trying strength training? Burn the fat and feed the muscle! Instructor John Scaralia will take you a through a specially designed program with proven principles of progressive weight training and nutrition for maximum muscle building. Next session starts Sept. 23, and runs Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 30.
