Friday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. — CASTLETON — The Castleton Downtown Gallery in Rutland will feature the works of local Vermont artist Kathryn Wiegers running from Aug.19 through Sept. 19, with an artist reception scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. Entitled “The Rutland Muralist,” the exhibit will feature a variety of mural paintings.
“Painting murals is my passion. I grew up painting on walls in my house as a kid, and ever since, the sight of a primed white wall is something that I get very excited about,” said Wiegers. “In my artwork, I try to display the world around us in a unique, and what I hope to be an intense way.”
Wiegers artwork and murals can be seen throughout the state of Vermont.
The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
