Robbery reported at Macs Center Rutland

RUTLAND — Vermont State Police at the Rutland barracks are investigating a robbery that occurred Saturday, June 4 at Mac’s Market, 151 West Business Route 4 in Center Rutland. The robbery took place at 6:57 p.m.

According to police a lone male robber assaulted the store’s clerk and stole property. The store clerk was only identified as an adult male. He was not seriously injured during the robbery, police said.

The robber was described as Caucasian, believed to be in his mid-30s, approximately five-feet, nine-inches to six-feet tall, thin build, closely cropped, dirty blonde hair and beard, wearing dark blue jeans and a dark blue or black t-shirt.

State police did not release information concerning the nature of the assault or the property stolen at the time of the notice; however, video footage/images will be available in the next few days, police said.
