RHS Hockey team celebrates senior day

Rutland High School students adapted this year’s annual Senior Day festivities due to Covid-19, but that didn’t stop them from celebrating in a modified fashion.

“Each year the junior parents put in senior day for the hockey team and their families. In a normal year the boys would be announced before the game and meet their parents on the ice. The boys would give their mom flowers and pictures would be done. Parents usually put posters together and display them in the lobby and after the game everyone would meet in the lobby and have pizza and cake. This year the boys were announced but after the game we met outside under a tent and ate pizza and cake before it started to rain. We did have pictures taken and the boys gave us flowers but it wasn’t a big deal because all their families and friends could not be there to celebrate. I have to say the junior parents this year pulled off a great day with only 2 days notice!” said parent Heather Baker.
