Remembrance Ceremony honors emergency service personnel

Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. — PITTSFORD — The Vermont Emergency Services Memorial committee invites the community to join in the 12th annual Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.  The ceremony marks the construction completion. The monument stands as a tribute to those currently serving in the emergency services and to our lost members, their families, friends and co-workers.

The 2015 Vermont Emergency Services Memorial Service and Re-Dedication will be held at the Memorial Site on the grounds of the Vermont Police and Fire Academy on Academy Road, Pittsford.

The Vermont Emergency Services Memorial Service honors all emergency service personnel, police, fire, EMS and corrections who have given their lives in service to the citizens of Vermont. There are currently 25 police officer’s, 47 firefighters, 9 correctional officers and 7 EMS personnel whose names appear on the memorial and have given their lives in the line of duty for Vermont citizens.
