Pittsfield Select Board meeting highlights from Oct. 6, 2015

PITTSFIELD — Bill Oren asked the town to consider adopting an ordinance prohibiting fireworks and voiced his concerns about the sign in the Village Green that he feels is advertising for private businesses.

The Riverside Horse Farm Act 250 hearing has been recessed, pending additional information from Riverside Horse Farm.

The Pittsfield Town Plan has been approved with no additional changes.

Bill Leimgruber presented a letter to the Select Board stating his disproval of the Select Board’s actions on his original petition and a new petition against the proposed Tweed River Park with 35 names (25 of which were registered voters in Pittsfield). Any action on the proposed park was tabled at the Aug. 18 meeting pending a public hearing on the matter by DuBois & King.

The Town received preliminary plans for bridge 126 (on Route 100 near Lower Michigan Road). No start date has been issued. Estimated project cost is $1,480,000. VTrans will start contacting local property owners about the project.

The Select Board reviewed all quotes for the Town Hall insulation project, but tabled the topic while two members gather additional info on the quotes reviewed.
