Petco Love invests in the Rutland County Humane Society to save and improve the lives of pets

A $7,500 grant will be celebrated at RCHS on July 22

Friday, July 22 — RUTLAND — The Rutland County Humane Society is set to receive a $7,500 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love during a special celebration at Rutland Petco, 312 US Route 7, on July 22 at 10 a.m., in support of their lifesaving work for animals in Rutland County.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations – like ours – across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in the Rutland County Humane Society is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We recently celebrated the one-year launch anniversary of Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“RCHS is so appreciative of the continued support from Petco Love to support our programs for the animals and people in Rutland County. Their generosity has enabled us to provide medical care, comfort and love while the homeless animals are in our care” said Beth Saradarian, Executive Director.

The Rutland County Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which is dedicated to and advocating for and working towards a responsible and humane community. We shelter and provide compassionate care while finding loving families for at-risk and companion animals serving Rutland County, VT.

Since 1959, RCHS estimates it has cared for or assisted over 120,000 animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and, in the early years, skunks, loons, fawns, goats and horses, to name just a few.
