Peak Ultra challenges runners  on Pittsfield’s Trails

Saturday, May 16 at 8:30 a.m. — PITTSFIELD — The Peak Ultra Trail Running Race is hosted by Peak Races in the rustic Vermont town of Pittsfield on Saturday, May 16.

After many years of offering only ultra distance courses, Peak Races has introduced a new, shorter 15-mile course. There is a fit challenge for every level of runner interested in exploring the Green Mountain Trails, which also run through the Green Mountain National Forest. “People inspiring people” is the hope as the event is designed to help runners not only discover the beauty of the Vermont mountains, but inside thgemselves as well.

The 15-mile race begins at 8:30 a.m. There are other ultra distances: 30, 50, 100 and 200 mile races; each with its own start date/time and set number of days to complete. Pre-race registration for the 15-mile is Friday, May 15 between 5-7 p.m. at Riverside Farm, in the white barn, located at 3178 VT-100, Pittsfield.

Nationally known Ultra Racer Travis Macy will provide a free clinic and will be running the 50 mile race (which he can do in one day!). For more info, visit www.peak.com.
