On-demand testing site now open in Rutland, 16 sites statewide

The state will continue to add more testing sites this week. Mike Smith, secretary of the Agency of Human Services, said on-demand testing sites opened last week in Rutland, Brattleboro, Burlington, Middlebury, and Waterbury.

The Rutland site is located at Rutland Regional Medical Center, 160 Allen St.

Additional testing sites are being opened in Berlin, Bennington, Fairlee, Newport, Northfield, St. Johnsbury, Stratton, Morrisville, Springfield, White River Junction and a location in Franklin County that’s being finalized now.

Tests are available at those locations seven days a week, with day- and night-time hours, and are free to all. Pop-up testing will also continue when hotspots develops.

The state is currently testing over 30,000 people per week with a rolling average of over 5,000 a day.
