LUDLOW – Among its employee recognition programs, Okemo Mountain Resort’s Peak Performers program acknowledges employees for giving exceptional service to resort guests and fellow employees. Managers nominate employees based on factors such as job performance, safety awareness, dependability and enthusiasm. Special recognition and gifts of appreciation are awarded and all Peak Performers are entered into a drawing for round-trip airfare and seven nights’ lodging, for two, at Crested Butte, Colo., or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Okemo’s Peak Performers for the 2014-2015 winter season were: Greg Bowen, marketing; Jim Cahill, facilities; Stacey Edwards, rental and repair shop; Allison Fowle, resort services; Richard Goodrich, facilities; Carolyn Griggs, mountain operations; Alicia Lyman, daycare; Derek Miles, Jackson Gore Inn; Paul Nelson, lift operations; Kyle Noiva, administration; Josh Smart, sign shop; Dave Starkey, lift operations; Peter Strazza, facilities; Marc Sullivan, accounting; Becky Tobey, ticket sales; Rick Waugaman, ski + ride school; Mark Weigand, culinary; Dana Wilson, Jackson Gore Inn.

Derek Miles was the winner of the drawing and has recently returned from his trip to St. Thomas.

Last spring, Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce ranked Okemo Mountain Resort fourth in the large-business category of Best Places to Work in Vermont for 2015. Okemo climbed three spots since earning honors for the first time in 2014 and it was the first ski resort to make the prestigious list.
