New rock climbing programs offered through the Rutland Recreation Department

Adult rock climbing

Why should just the kids have all the fun? Adults are invited to Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center to learn a lifetime skill while getting a great full body workout! Beginner and advanced adult classes are now being offered through the Rutland Recreation Department Friday, Jan. 8 to Feb. 7 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Groups will be split accordingly. Fee to participate is $78 for city residents and $89 non-residents. Register at www.rutlandrec.com or stop by the Rutland Recreation Department office at 16 North Street Extension.

Parent-child rock climbing

Did you ever wish rock climbing was available for younger age groups? Now it is! Kids ages 3-5 have the opportunity to participate in a four-week program at the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center. Parents must stay with their child for this program. Support your child as they gain confidence, improve balance, and enjoy the sport of rock climbing for the first time. Classes are on Wednesdays Jan. 6-27 from 1:30-2:15 p.m. Fee to participate is $68 city resident and $79 non-resident. Register by Dec. 27 to avoid $10 late registration fee, www.rutlandrec.com or stop by the Rutland Recreation Department office at 16 North Street Extension.

Youth rock climbing

The next session of youth rock climbing begins Saturday, Jan. 9 through Feb. 6. Rutland Rec offers a wide range of levels from beginner to advanced. Staff from the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center will assist you in learning all aspects of climbing. Register at www.rutlandrec.com or stop by our office at 16 North Street Extension.
