NAMI Vermont offers mental illness and recovery workshop online

Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m.—The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont (NAMI Vermont) will offer the Mental Illness and Recovery workshop for peers, family members, professionals, and community members who want to learn more about mental health and recovery. This workshop will be offered on Saturday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m. –3 p.m. via Zoom.

This workshop will provide basic information about major mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder.

The workshop will also provide an overview of effective treatments for mental health conditions, accessing services throughout the state, evidence-based practices available in Vermont, coping strategies and crisis prevention, recovery and helpful community resources.

The NAMI Vermont Mental Illness and Recovery workshop is free and is made possible by a grant from the Dept. of Mental Health. For more information or to register, visit namivt.org.
