Mini shredders took on Killington Resort on Jan 7, 2023

The next generation of ski and snowboard superstars showed off their stuff in the Lil’ stash at Killington Resort on Saturday, Jan 7. At Mini Shred Madness, kids get a feel for the rules and navigation of the park and are rewarded with great prizes from sponsors such as Mammut, Burton, Yeti, Nokian, Woodward Killington and more.

Riders ages 13 and under were divided into two heats – groms, ages 10-13 and Super Groms, ages 9 and under.  Each group got 25 minutes to impress the crowd and judges with their tricks.  Stand out male and female skiers and snowboarders are named in the grom division, and instead of a standard podium, the youngest riders are recognized with awards such as “The Beast,” “Smooth Operator,” “110%” and “Positive Attitude,” encouraging all to cheer each other on and keep heading back for more.

Throughout the day, the Woodward Park crew generously handed out tokens for stand out moments — each earning its recipient an extra entry into the raffle. But while prizes were plentiful, the day was really all about happy faces and triumphant moments.

The next Mini Shred Madness event is scheduled for Feb. 25 at Pico Mountain, so gather your groms for a day full of progression and smiles.
