Mentor Connector board elects Hultquist as executive director

RUTLAND—The Mentor Connector board announced March 26 that Christopher Hultquist will serve as its new executive director, replacing Rebecca Majoya, who resigned to pursue other interests. Mr. Hultquist formerly served as director of outreach for the Pregnancy Center of the Upper Valley. He holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Capella University and a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Nyack College in N.Y.

The Mentor Connector offers high quality adult-to-youth mentoring relationships throughout Rutland County. The school and community-based programs cater to youth ages 5-21.

The recent unanimous vote by the non-profit’s board of directors to hire Mr. Hulquist culminates a two-month search.

“Chris was the top choice because of his passion for youth,” said Mentor Connector Board President Katie Meisinger. She added: “He also brings incredible energy, an innovative spirit and a proven track record for creating organizational sustainability.”

“I am grateful to the Mentor Connector Board for the strong vote of confidence in my abilities and look forward to building upon the work of this important organization,” said Hultquist.
