Local roadway construction continues this week

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT)and local town crews  still have a few planned construction activities  underway this week in Rutland and Windsor Counties. They are as follows:

I-89 White River Junction – NHDOT are working on a multi-year bridge replacement project on I-89 over the Connecticut River. Motorists should expect daily lane closures and speed limit reductions over the northbound and southbound bridges.

I-91 Bradford – Permanent, single-lane closures have been established on I-91 in both directions near Exit 16 while crews work on maintenance repairs to multiple bridges. Motorists are advised to remain alert as lane closures will shift throughout the week. A full stop configuration has been implemented for traffic entering I-91 northbound from Exit 16. A speed limit reduction to 55 mph is in place through the work zones. The westbound shoulder of VT 25B/South Main Street under the work zone is closed.

I-91 Westminster-Springfield – A roadway resurfacing project is underway along I-91 North between Westminster and Springfield. Motorists can expect minimal traffic impacts throughout the project limits, between Exit 5 and Exit 8.

Killington – A bridge replacement project is underway on Route  4 east of the Skyeship Gondola. Traffic has transitioned onto the new bridge along Route 4. Motorists can expect intermittent stoppages and single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. The eastern end of Mission Farm Road will remain closed.

Killington  – Paving on the east side of East Mountain Road is scheduled to wrap up this week and be fully open to the public.

Poultney – A bridge replacement project is ongoing at the intersection of Thrall Road and River Street, where the yield to alternating traffic pattern remains in place. Paving equipment and trucks, as well as other construction traffic and work at both sides of the project will continue. Drivers are advised to remain alert for flaggers assisting traffic through the intersection.
