Lisa Lampanelli brings “Leaner, Meaner” tour to Rutland’s Paramount Theatre

LISA LAMPANELLI

Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. — RUTLAND — Comedy’s lovable “Queen of Mean,” Lisa Lampanelli will bring her “Leaner, Meaner” tour to Rutland’s Paramount Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m.

Never shying away from an insult or taboo subject, the seasoned comedian is well known for her fearless style of comedy. Brash, bold, and never afraid to go blue, Lampanelli offers a raucous and raunchy performance, with a sprinkle of “spiritual gangsta.” Sporting a more than 100-pound weight loss and funky new haircut, she takes the stage with more low blows and self-deprecating humor than ever before.

Lampanelli most recently shot her sixth stand up special “Back to the Drawing Board,” which premiered earlier this year on EPIX and is currently available on CD/digital album.

Often called the “Queen of Mean,” Lampanelli has been a regular on the Comedy Central Roast series making a name for herself taking jabs at Donald Trump (2011), Larry the Cable Guy (2009), and Pam Anderson (2005). She has also appeared in the documentary “The Aristocrats” (2005), and was a contestant/performer on “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2012. She is currently working on her one woman show, “Fat Girls, Interrupted.”

What her peers are saying:

“King of All Media,” Howard Stern: “L.L.! Lana Lang, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and now the greatest of them all — Lisa Lampanelli. She’s the one person who will be invited to a roast and destroy everything in her path and leave you wondering who could follow her. Lisa will steal the show every time, whether it’s on my radio program or on any stage anywhere doing stand up. And don’t forget — she has those iconic initials that all great people have in Superman comics — L.L. I love Lisa and so should you…a true original and a brilliant comedy mind.”
Jim Carrey: “If you want to see real racial integration, go to a Lisa Lampanelli show. That’s where you’ll find people of every color and creed having a good laugh at themselves and each other. No one is safe from prejudice at a Lisa Lampanelli show … and no one wants to be. By boldly poking fun at everyone, including her chocolate daddy-lovin’ self, Lisa releases us from a prison of cultural guilt. She’s more than a standup. She’s a standout.”

Larry the Cable Guy: “I love Lisa! Not only is she offstage one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met but onstage she turns into Don Rickles, only with more hair and not as shapely. Nobody gets bigger laughs than Lisa. Lisa is bringing to theaters across the country something Americans have seem to have lost — a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at themselves. She’s an unbelievably great comedian.”
Carlos Mencia: “Every generation has a female comic that destroys the conventional wisdom that only men can be raunchy and funny. Lisa Lampanelli is this generation’s choice.”

Tickets ($39.50 – $59.50) are available at the venue box office located at 30 Center Street in downtown Rutland. Patrons can charge-by-phone by calling 802-775-0903 or purchase online at www.paramountlive.org. The Paramount Theatre, a fully ADA compliant (including state-of-the-art hearing assistance devices) historic landmark theatre is now in its 17th season of presenting world class, live entertainment in downtown Rutland.
