Killington town employees excel at workplace wellness

KILLINGTON—The Town of Killington municipal employees will be recognized for their efforts in workplace wellness by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports and the Vermont Department of Health on March 25, in Burlington.

The Town of Killington is one of 92 businesses that will receive an award for 2014. This is the fifth year the Town’s municipal employees have been honored.

The awards are designed to highlight and recognize what workplaces around the state are doing to promote the health and wellness of their employees.

“Worksites that promote healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco use cessation and breastfeeding contribute to the overall health and wellness of all Vermonters, and they are one of the key reasons we are routinely rated the nation’s healthiest state,” said Health Commissioner Harry Chen, M.D.
