Killington to see temporary road closures and detours September to December

KILLINGTON — The town of Killington recently announced a schedule for roadway improvements and special events over the next months that will cause road closures and detours.

Bridge replacement on Thundering Brook Road

Thundering Brook Road will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, Aug. 25 for the replacement of a bridge and large culvert.  Please use U.S. Route 4 / River Road as an alternate route. Thundering Brook Road is scheduled to reopen Dec. 1.

Killington Classic event

Starting Thursday, Aug. 28 the Town of Killington will be hosting the Killington Classic Motorcycle Rally.  Traffic will be impacted on the following roads:

The easternmost northbound lane (the right lane) on Killington Road from South View Path to West Hill Road will be closed for motorcycle parking during the event.  The closure will take place from Thursday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. until Sunday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m.

West Hill Road from Rocky Ridge to Killington Road will be closed to through traffic to accommodate a motorcycle demo. Traffic will be directed via Route 4 and Killington Road, or via George Street and Innsbruck Lane. The closure will take place from Thursday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. until Sunday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m.

Repaving lower Killington Road

The week of Sept. 8, Killington Road, from Route 4 to West Hill Road will be milled and repaved.
