Kids shred the park at Killington

A young snowboarder catches air with style.

KILLINGTON — The groms threw down at the 2016 Mini Shred Madness held this past Saturday, Jan. 16 at Killington Resort. Sixty four youth competed in divisions made up of Super Grom (first time park riders, ages 9 and under) and Grom (park-riding experienced kids, ages 10-13, male and female). Both skiers and snowboarders participated. The top three winners in each category are as follows:

Supergrom Skiers:

The Smooth Operator – Owen Ciaglo

The Beast – Charles Rice

The Super Grom – Trae Damore

Supergrom Snowboarders:

The Smooth Operator – Tim Mrachek

The Beast – Briana Schnorrbusch

The Super Grom – Pippa Scott

Grom Skiers Male:

1st place – Thomas Baltay

2nd place – Felix Estes

3rd place – Dylan Damore

Grom Skiers Female:

1st place – Montana Osinski

2nd place – Lara Dlugosz

3rd place – Elodie Flanagan

Grom Snowboarder Male:

1st place – Ryan Mrachek

2nd place – Owen Crossman

3rd place – Ryan Tondo

Grom Snowboarder Female:

1st place – Addison McDermott

2nd place – Olivia Margolin

3rd place – Brooke Esposito

Mini Shred Madness will be held again on Feb. 20 at Pico Mountain.
